December: A Generous Month
Did you know December is the biggest giving month for most churches?
December is a wonderful season of generosity, and a few thoughtful reminders can help inspire your congregation to give joyfully. Many churches experience a large increase in December giving.
Here are three tips to encourage year-end giving:
1️ SHARE STORIES OF IMPACT
Help your congregation see how their giving has made a difference this year. Whether it’s supporting ministries, reaching your community, or investing in missions, sharing these stories reminds everyone how God is working through their generosity.
2 GENTLY HIGHLIGHT THE TAX SEASON
With only three Sundays left in the year, remind your congregation that gifts made by December 31 will count toward this year’s tax return. This simple, practical nudge can encourage those who may have been planning to give but haven’t yet acted.
3️ EXPRESS GENUINE GRATITUDE
A sincere “thank you” goes a long way. It can be a simple thank you from the pulpit, letting your congregation know how much their generosity is appreciated. Gratitude honors their giving and fosters a spirit of joy in partnership.
As you guide your church into the new year, these small steps can help finish the year strong and set the stage for all that’s to come.
